Readiness score

Twelve questions, weighted by how much each one actually moves the outcome. It is built to be able to tell you no. About a third of the people who answer it honestly get told to wait, which is the same third we turn away when they apply.

Before you score yourselfIs it possible to create Google knowledge panel via personal branding??3:39
Can personal branding alone produce a panel? Three and a half minutes on where the ceiling actually is.
Panel readiness 0 of 12 answered
Is there one website on the internet that is unambiguously about you and controlled by you?Not a company site with an About page. A page whose whole subject is you.
Would a stranger reading three different pages about you come away with the same one-sentence answer?Same job title, same city, same claim. Not three different framings.
Has somebody who is not you, and not paid by you, written about or interviewed you in the last two years?Press, a podcast, a conference bio, an association listing, a trade publication.
Do your LinkedIn, Instagram, X and YouTube profiles carry the same name spelling and the same photograph?Character for character, and the same image file, not a similar one.
Is there Person schema on a page about you, with a filled sameAs array?Structured data a machine can read without guessing.
Are you the strongest result for your own name today?Search it in a private window. Count how many of the first ten results are actually you.
Do you have published work with an ISBN, a patent, an academic record, or a listed public role? The durable accelerators. One is enough.
Have you appeared on five or more podcasts or panels with recognised people in your field?Cohort proximity. Being seen next to people Google already understands.
Do you have one Google account you will still control in five years? The claim and every future edit run through it.
Is there a consistent city attached to you across the public web?The geographic half of the record. Remote-first people often fail this one.
Do you publish anything on a schedule a machine could notice? Two substantial pieces a month is the floor that works.
If Google got a fact about you wrong tomorrow, could you point at a page that proves the right version? The correction only works if the evidence is already public.

§01

The nine queries

The diagnostic we run at the start of every build, and there is no reason you cannot run it yourself in ten minutes. Type your name and the nine links below become live Google searches. Open each in a private window and write down what you see.

Query generator
How to score it

Query one is the only one that decides whether you have a panel. The other eight tell you why. If your name returns somebody else, that is a namesake problem. If it returns you but thinly, that is a corroboration problem. If it returns nothing recognisable, that is a build, and it starts at ninety days.

§02

Why this can say no

A panel will not trigger and will not stick on an empty entity home and blank schema. There is no configuration of effort that makes Google confident about somebody the public web has nothing to say about.

That is not a character judgement, it is a sequence problem. The evidence has to exist before it can be organised. If you score low here, the honest next step is six months of real-world work — publish something, speak somewhere, get written about by somebody independent — and then come back and run this again.

Selling a build at that stage would just be selling you a twelve-month refund with extra steps.

45–74The normal starting point. Six to twelve months.
20–44Foundation first. Come back in six months.
0–19No. And nobody honest will take it on.
